Pennyhill Park, an Exclusive Hotel & Spa in Bagshot, Surrey, has announced Matthew Worswick as the new Head Chef of its award-winning restaurant, The Latymer.

Matthew joins Pennyhill Park from Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa in the Wirral where he has held the position of Executive Chef for the last 18 months.

At 28 years of age, Liverpool-born Worswick has already enjoyed a stellar career including winning a Michelin-star at Glenapp Castle in Ayrshire at just 26 years old as well as working with David Everitt-Matthias at the 2 Michelin-star Le Champignon Sauvage in Gloucestershire.

Worswick began his chef career at The Crofters Hotel in Lancashire before moving to the Michelin-star St. Martins-on-the-Isle on The Isles of Scilly, working with Kenny Atkinson where he achieved a Michelin Rising Star award in 2007. He has since gone on to secure his place as a semi-finalist on BBC MasterChef: The Professionals in 2010 and most recently a regional finalist representing the North West in BBC2’s Great British Menu 2015.

Matthew will commence his role at The Latymer on 01 March 2016.
