They said it would never work, but Vivek Singh’s The Cinnamon Club is delighted to be celebrating its 15th birthday this March. Having recently undergone a stunning £1 million refurbishment, the iconic restaurant set in the Old Westminster Library is marking the occasion with a series of exclusive events and initiatives that includes a limited edition tasting menu; premium specially-designed cocktails; one-off chef collaborations and a range of specialist products.
Anniversary tasting menu with 15-year vintages
Vivek Singh’s revolutionary cooking, fusing the spice of the subcontinent with the finest British ingredients and culinary traditions, has become renowned for creating food that is cutting-edge and contemporary yet manages to remain classic and timeless. His inimitable style will be showcased throughout the month of March with a limited edition, six-course tasting menu showcasing some of the best elements from The Cinnamon Club’s most popular dishes – past and present – and pairing them with 15 year vintages of wines and spirits (see menu attached).
The menu with paired wines is priced at £150 per person and limited wine stocks mean that only a set number of the menus are available – when they’re gone, they’re gone!
Cocktails
The Cinnamon Club’s stunning Library Bar, with its intimate feel and book-lined shelves has become as iconic as the restaurant itself. Bar Manager Gianni Albanese has created a collection of 15th anniversary concoctions that hark back to some of the bar’s best sellers but introduce an updated twist to keep things fresh (see menu attached).
The Year Ahead
Who doesn’t like to make their birthday last for as long as possible? Whilst the landmark month is March, there will be plenty more occasion-marking initiatives planned for the remainder of the restaurant’s 15th year.
On Tuesday 21st June, Vivek will be joined by Peter Gordon, Executive Chef and Co-Owner of Antipodean fusion restaurant The Providores which is also celebrating its 15th year. The esteemed pair will collaborate to create a truly unique menu for a one night only, private dining experience at The Cinnamon Club. More details will be released as the event approaches.
Finally, a range of tote bags and aprons have also been specially commissioned making perfect gifts for foodie fans of The Cinnamon Club.
Vivek Singh said: “To say we are thrilled to be celebrating 15 years at The Cinnamon Club is an understatement, particularly as, when we set out, we were often told the concept would never work.
“The Cinnamon Club has challenged British diners’ perceptions of Indian food and truly represents the sophistication of the multi-cultural London restaurant scene. We look forward to our next 15 years.”
