Belmond announces the new line up of celebrity chef ‘pop-up’ dinners on board Belmond British Pullman for 2016. Chefs taking up the challenge of serving their signature menus on board the historic 1920s carriages include celebrated television personalities and Michelin starred restauranteurs. The first pop-up event in London on 6 May is to be hosted by award-winning Italian Chef, Aldo Zilli, followed by three-time winner of the TV series ‘Great British Menu’, Richard Corrigan; the only two Michelin starred publican, Tom Kerridge and television presenter, James Martin.
Stepping on board for the first time on Friday 6 May 2016, Aldo Zilli is set to host an Italian-inspired evening. Drawing inspiration from his native Abruzzo region, Zilli mixes fresh and luxurious ingredients presented with his famous exuberance and Italian passion.
Also taking over the galley-kitchens for his first ‘pop-up’ event is Richard Corrigan, Michelin starred chef and owner of Corrigan’s Mayfair and Bentley’s in London. Richard brings his passion for Great British food on board the vintage carriages on Saturday 11 June 2016.
Tom Kerridge hosts his third event aboard Belmond British Pullman on Saturday 13 August 2016. Tom showcases dishes from his two-Michelin star Hand & Flowers and his latest establishment, The Coach, creating a unique ‘pop-up pub’ within the historic carriages.
Completing the line-up of celebrity chefs in 2016 is television personality James Martin, who also returns for the third year running. James and his team create his famous comfort food inspired by his Yorkshire roots on Thursday 29 September 2016.
A highlight of the train’s annual calendar, these special ‘pop-up’ events showcase the celebrity chef’s individual culinary talents with a multi-course menu paired with wines. Following a Champagne reception at Belmond British Pullman’s private lounge in London Victoria Station, guests board the 1920s carriages at approximately 18.00 for an evening of theatrical dining and entertainment as the train travels on a round trip journey, returning to London Victoria at approximately 23.00. The intimate evenings, exclusively for just 100 passengers, allow guests the opportunity to spend time with their favourite chefs.
Dining on board Belmond British Pullman is one of the London’s most exclusive and luxurious culinary experiences and the perfect setting to celebrate a special occasion. The art deco carriages, passing scenery and exceptional personal service by liveried stewards, evoke a golden age of travel.
