The Bell Inn celebrates gold status after impressing AA inspectors

By James Russell: The Bell Inn celebrates gold status after impressing AA inspectors

February 22, 2016

The Inn, at Brook, in The New Forest, has been awarded a 4* Gold Inn accreditation and was also awarded an AA Rosette for its locally-sourced food.

AA inspector Kelly Power, who conducted the review, said: “This beautifully-presented property offers a high level of quality and comfort to guests.

“All areas are immaculately presented, with the smart exterior creating a positive first impression and this continues inside. The public areas are inviting and very well furnished and all staff encountered were proactive in their friendly approach to guests and visitors.”

Robert Crosthwaite-Eyre, owner of The Bell Inn, said: “I am delighted with this accreditation, which confirms The Bell Inn’s status as one of the country’s most welcoming and comfortable inns.

“We pride ourselves on the quality of our food and service, and this award is testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff in providing the very best for our guests.”

The Bell Inn combines convenience with tradition – the building is Grade II listed and has been owned by the same family throughout its history. It welcomes couples, families and groups of all sizes and has corporate facilities for businesses, including flexible conference and meeting rooms.

The inn has recently undergone a sensitive refurbishment designed to show-off its most beautiful features: flagstone floors, large, open fires and beamed reception rooms with stylish furnishings, a welcoming bar with comfortable sofas and light, spacious dining rooms.

Locally-sourced food is especially important to The Bell Inn as it has unique access to the family’s New Forest and Scottish estates. The inn offers a true ‘Estate to Plate’ dining experience and the chefs have full rein to create seasonal specials and mouth-watering menus.

The Bell Inn also has its own golf club with two courses, including Hampshire’s oldest, the appropriately-named ‘Forest’ where players can test their skills around the trees, across heathland and among grazing wild animals.
