Stand 3202, Hotelympia, ExCeL, London, 29 February – 3 March 2016
3M exhibits latest innovations in scale control and great tasting water filtration at Hotelympia 2016.
3M, the science-based technology company, is exhibiting its range of innovative, high performance filters at the UK’s largest foodservice and hospitality event, Hotelympia, 29 February to 3 March 2016. On stand 3202, 3M will showcase its ScaleGard Pro Range including the ScaleGard LP2 Dual Port Reverse Osmosis System and the innovative High Flow Series of water filters from 3M. All the filters produce Recipe Quality Water for great and consistent tasting water, whilst reducing scale and impurities to lower maintenance and downtime of equipment including coffee/tea machines, ice machines, steamer ovens and vending machines.
ScaleGard Pro Range by 3M
The innovative ScaleGard Pro Range of water filters from 3M caters for a variety of flow rates and lifetime requirements, reducing the amount of scale in the water to protect equipment, from small coffee machines right through to large vending machines and steamers. A filtered by-pass through a one micron carbon block ensures all the water is a consistently high standard whilst allowing some minerals to remain for optimum beverage taste.
A common head connection helps with upsizing and allows a product from another range to be retrofitted. Utilising the 3M Sanitary Quick Change (SQC) solution, cartridges can be changed quickly and easily, even by non-skilled staff, and without the need to shut off the water supply.
Reverse Osmosis for Consistent Taste Experiences
The ScaleGard LP2 Dual Port Reverse Osmosis System from 3M is a compact, wall-mounted unit designed to deliver great tasting filtered water every time. The system provides two water qualities for specialty coffee and flash steamer applications, requiring only one filter system for all the back-of-house catering equipment typically found in a professional kitchen – from steamers and combi ovens to ice machines, bulk coffee brewers and espresso machines. These are all expensive pieces of equipment to buy and maintain so the elimination of multiple filtration units presents significant cost and time savings.
Mains water is forced through microscopic pores in a synthetic membrane whilst larger dissolved solids and heavy molecular weight contaminants are continually flushed away as reject water, reducing scale content and minimising equipment downtime and servicing costs. Also, as a non-electric system, with filtration driven by incoming water pressure, the system offers high reliability with low ownership costs, immunity to power outage and enhances energy efficiency.
High Flow Series
The Water Filtration Products High Flow Series from 3M uses revolutionary Integrated Membrane Pre-Activated Carbon Technology (IMPACT) for superior cartridge life and economy, with a single filter replacing three- or four-cartridge systems. The IMPACT technology combines a pharmaceutical-grade microporous membrane with a pre-activated carbon block to dramatically reduce pressure drop and practically eliminate the need for pre-filtration. The two-zone integrated membrane provides superior sediment holding capabilities while reducing Cryptosporidium and Giardia cysts, and more than 99.99 per cent of all water-borne bacteria. A single economical High Flow Series cartridge delivers Recipe Quality Water for more than 864,000 230ml cups of coffee, 432,000 460ml soft drinks, or 100,000kg of ice at flow rates of up to 20 litres/minute.
