Splendid Hospitality Group, one of the UK’s fastest growing privately owned hotel groups, has acquired The New Ellington Hotel in Leeds city centre for around the guide price of £2.5 million.
Located at 23-25 York Place within Leeds’ central business district, The New Ellington Hotel is a boutique-style hotel providing 34 en suite bedrooms, alongside contemporary boardrooms, bar and restaurant, as well as meeting and conferencing facilities.
Other hotels in the Splendid Hospitality Group’s portfolio include the 5-star Conrad London St James, the Hilton London Bankside as well as Yorkshire’s only 5-star hotel, The Grand Hotel and Spa in York.
On the sale Julian Troup, Head of UK Hotels, Colliers International, said: “The New Ellington has a reputation for its discreet location and is regularly used by musicians and artists as a bolthole following performances in Leeds. We received a great deal of interest for the hotel and Splendid Hospitality Group’s strong track record for developing and enhancing boutique hotels proved to be a good match for New Ellington.”
Nadeem Boghani, Vice Chairman, Splendid Hospitality Group added: “This is an exciting start to 2016 and we are delighted to add this very attractive boutique hotel to our growing portfolio of 18 hotels. The New Ellington Hotel will be our fifth hotel in Yorkshire and our first in central Leeds.”
Colliers advised the vendor, RBS, in the sale.
