Famed for being the first to bring interactive ordering systems to the tables of diners, along with projected changing table cloths and other exciting interactive content, inamo’s aim is to immerse diners into a technological world of fun and interactivity whilst serving high quality pan-Asian cuisine.
Opened in 2008, inamo Soho was the first of the inamo restaurants. Located on one of Soho’s historical thoroughfares, Wardour Street, the restaurant had much success and was followed with the opening of inamo St James in late 2010.
The restaurant group, though only small, proved its appeal, success, and popularity as inamo was named Time Out Restaurant of the Year 2010. Now in 2016, inamo continues to receive high praise from diners and critics alike, and continues to be the only restaurant group in London to offer an interactive technological dining experience.
In January 2016, inamo relocates the St James location to their new and much anticipated restaurant in Covent Garden. With plans to continue to expand their restaurant offering across London in the future, more central London locations are likely to witness the arrival of the innovative restaurant group.
About inamo Covent Garden
Only a two minute walk from Covent Garden tube station, the opening of inamo Covent Garden in January 2016 will see the introduction of new, improved technology to the tables of those dining. From state of the art tablet-based ordering systems, to the ability to instantly rate your dishes, interactive table cloths, and new engaging interactive content for both children and adults alike, the table experience at inamo Covent Garden will be unlike anywhere else in London or beyond.
Set over three floors, customers will dine in an environment that combines the calming elements of South Asia’s natural world with the entrancing use of technology and light.
Onyx and wood are used to clad the walls, with charred timber to provide sophistication and warmth in some areas, complemented with lighter chestnut or white burnt larch wood. Glowing onyx panels provide textural contrast. Tables will sit amongst clusters of bamboo, and a stunning lighting system will subtly adjust to match the colours of interactive table projections, with bespoke effects created for private events.
The intimate basement Onyx Bar, with its sumptuous interior design has its own sushi bar, and is set to be a sought-after destination in its own right, whilst also offering the opportunity for inamo diners to extend their dining experience within the restaurant. Along with the ability to subtly section areas off on the top floor of the restaurant, inamo Covent Garden will offer impressive flexible space for event or private hire.
The Food
Serving high quality pan-Asian cuisine drawing inspiration from Japan, China, Korea, Thailand and beyond, the menu centres around sharing plates. From fresh fish dishes including Ponzu Salmon Ceviche to Sweet and Sour Seabass; to succulent meat dishes such as Korean Lamb or Baby Malaysian Chicken; to a host of vegetable dishes and sides, including Vegetable Uramaki, Spicy Edamame and Kimchi, inamo’s food is as much of a talking point as the technology that surrounds it.
Inamo prides itself on sourcing the freshest ingredients and the provenance of the ingredients is always front of mind; dishes use British beef, Scottish salmon and fresh Atlantic lobster. The tuna is line caught, the scallops hand dived – you will not find any endangered species on the inamo menu.
