Michelin starred Bohemia restaurant in Jersey has appointed Georgi Mihov as its new Head Sommelier.
Georgi joins Bohemia with over 20 years of experience in high-end hotels and restaurants from working in his native Bulgaria to China, Abu Dhabi and London where he honed his knowledge at The Savoy Hotel.
He boasts an exceptional CV having worked in renowned hotel groups such as Intercontinental Hotels and Sofitel. It was at the Sofitel Forebase Chongqing, China that Georgi developed and implemented the Wine Spectator award-winning wine list.
Georgi was also awarded Best Sommelier in Bulgaria and since then has become a judge for wine competitions across the globe including Decanter World Wine Awards. He is a prominent international wine personality.
Most recently Georgi had been working on his own fine wine brand Someno Wines, which sells some of the highest rated Bulgarian wine to private clients and fine dining restaurants in Bulgaria.
Georgi is looking forward to bringing his passion and wealth of knowledge of wine to Bohemia. He adds: “I’m excited to be Sommelier at one of the UK’s top fine dining establishments. Bohemia already boasts a vast wine list and I am looking forward to expanding it to produce one of the best wine lists in the UK.”
