A former landmark devastated by fire in 2013 has been completely transformed by Brunning & Price (B&P) to create a stunning pub restaurant in Warmington, Banbury.
B&P, who acquired the property earlier this year, are renowned for their philosophy of turning back time by rescuing dilapidated historic buildings and transforming them into traditional pub restaurants offering high quality food, fine wines and local ales.
The building, which dates back to the 1700s, was stripped back to its former shell and refitted to an exceptionally high standard and now features a central bar at its heart. Several smaller, cosy rooms have been created and the old fireplaces opened up to bring back the warmth and atmosphere of the former country inn. The rear of the building looks out onto newly terraced landscaped gardens especially designed to enhance the stunning vistas over the surrounding countryside.
Once The Wobbly Wheel…
The Wobbly Wheel, reborn as The Falcon, joins the family of B&P pubs and is managed by Peter Palfi who previously led the team of its nearby sister pub, The Greyhound. Peter said: “I was offered the chance to take on the challenge of creating a pub from scratch and relished the thought. Along with the quality food, ales and fine wines B&P pub restaurants are renowned for, I believe the fact we are left to add our personal touch to enhance customer experience makes all the difference.”
The Greyhound, with Peter at the helm, was shortlisted in October from over 350 nominees in the Oxfordshire Restaurant Award, going on to win in the Public Vote category.
