The Distinct Group pub company has bought the 76-bedroom Cromwell Hotel in Stevenage as the business continues to grow.
Distinct Group already has three London pubs: the Prince Albert in Camden; the Adam and Eve in Mill Hill; and the Three Compasses on Hornsey. However, fierce competition for good pub sites in London made a move outside London a logical next step to expansion.
Distinct Group intends to invest substantially in the hotel, converting it into a boutique hotel with gastropub. Work on this process is intended to start early in 2016.
