Drake & Morgan has appointed Marcus Brownlow as Property Director. With almost 25 years’ experience in the property industry, Marcus joins Drake & Morgan in the newly-created role to oversee the acquisition of new sites both in London and regionally throughout the rest of the UK.
Beginning his career in the property sector as a graduate surveyor, Marcus made his name at Coffee Republic where he began as a Property Manager, later promoted to Property Director. Marcus grew the company from 30 stores to over 100 units in a few short years before joining Compass Group, the largest catering company in the world, directing the locations for the group’s specialist brands from high-street sites and travel hubs to service stations and large stadiums. From there, Marcus moved to SSP Partner UK Ltd, the UK’s largest food retailer in railway stations with an annual turnover of over £1-billion. Within two and half years in the role, Marcus had opened 20 new sites as well as managing several refurbishment projects.
Marcus’ most recent role saw him as Head of Acquisitions at Eat, one of the UK’s leading fast-casual cafés. Here, Marcus oversaw a move to a new head office whilst also performing a full strategic review of the company’s sites to maximise sales and increase brand presence.
Marcus takes up his role in late November 2016, and will be responsible for driving the acquisition pipeline of sites in London and across the UK.
Drake & Morgan is recognised as one of London’s leading bar and restaurant groups and Marcus is well placed to join the Drake & Morgan team at a period of fast-paced and exciting growth.
