BW Premier Collection has today announced that Hazlewood Castle, near Leeds, will become the fifth member of Best Western GB’s soft branded offering for high end hotels.
Set in 70 acres of land, Hazlewood Castle is steeped in history and was first mentioned in the Doomsday Book in 1086. Home to the Vavasours for over 900 years, the English Civil War was fought in its grounds.
It has since been converted into a luxury hotel offering 32 bedrooms and suites, award-winning dining at the Vavasour Restaurant, the Imagine Spa and activities in the grounds ranging from clay-pigeon shooting to quad biking. The property has also become well known as a stand-out wedding venue, both due to the stunning backdrop it offers and the service its staff offers.
Rob Payne, CEO of Best Western GB comments: “We’re thrilled to welcome Hazlewood Castle into the BW Premier Collection, it’s a stunning new addition with a long and rich local history that we know our guests will love. BW Premier Collection is proving to be an extremely attractive proposition for great British hotels that want to retain and celebrate their independence but know they have the security of Best Western behind them.”
Melissa Watson, General Manager at Hazlewood Castle comments: “Joining BW Premier Collection will allow us to be part of a group of similar-minded, but each uniquely different properties and give us access to Best Western’s marketing and sales platforms.”
BW Premier Collection is Best Western’s premium soft brand for hotels that are 4* and above. It launched last year and, in addition to the five existing hotels in the group, has a number more in the pipeline.
