Northern Ireland’s premier 5-star hotel, the Culloden Estate and Spa, has unveiled its recent refurbishment which was in excess of £1,000,000.
The investment programme includes a new-look Mitre restaurant and refurbished bedrooms including the four original tower suites. This month, as part of the investment a refurbishment programme of the spa will begin.
Adrian McNally, General Manager of the Culloden Estate & Spa said: “We are delighted to unveil the results of our latest refurbishment which was an investment by Hastings Hotels in excess of £1,000,000.
“As well as the refurbishment of the bedrooms, we undertook a complete redesign of the Mitre restaurant. Our aim for the Mitre was to stay true to the heritage and architecture of the original hotel while introducing a contemporary luxury with rich upholsteries, rich mocha woods, flowing gold voile sheers and antiqued mirrors reflecting the natural light from a wall of floor to ceiling windows overlooking the estate gardens and Belfast Lough. We are delighted with the result and are confident that we have achieved the correct balance between traditional and contemporary.
“To complement the new look restaurant our Executive Head Chef Paul McKnight and Executive Sous Chef Brian Donaldson have created a new menu which takes on classical dishes with a contemporary twist. For example, we took a starter of prawn, ham and melon and created a prawn ice-cream, chargrilled watermelon and air dried ham. It is a very exciting menu and reinforces our dedication to using the very best of local produce.
“Taking our guests through this extraordinary culinary journey is a team of highly trained services professionals and coinciding with our investment we have developed new services styles with the input of our servers and training from our new Restaurant Manager Chris Kilpatrick.
