From the co-founders of London restaurant, bar and gastropub empire ETM Group (The Botanist Sloane Square, The Gun Docklands, The Jugged Hare, Barbican) comes something completely different to transform your mealtimes – Yum Som. Customers can grab and go or take time out to sit in the 24-cover sleek, bright, minimal space by renowned restaurant interior designer Russell Sage.

Conveniently located at the top of Leadenhall Street, opposite The Cheesegrater, Yum Som shreds, marinates and generously layers-up tender meat or tofu, crunchy vegetables and oodles of noodles or rice fresh-to-order with zesty, tailored dressings and crunchy toppings to create its signature Asian-style salads.

Combinations

Tempting combinations include: Som-O Classic: prawns, rice noodles, pomelo, Asian herbs, greens, peanuts & sweet lime, Toky-Yoyo: slow chicken, soba noodles, avocado, Asian herbs, greens & sesame, Nam Tok Beef: seared beef, rice, Asian herbs, greens, rice noodles, chilli & lime and 1,000 Smiles: aubergine, soba noodles, mango, crispy shallots, Asian herbs & sesame.

City workers who want something ready-to-go, straight-off-the-shelf will not go unrewarded. Light Rice Paper Rolls encase crisp fillings of Gunpowder Chilli (slow chicken, Asian herbs, beansprouts, peanuts, shallots and chilli) or Som-O Classic. Protein-packed Small Pots mix eggs & spinach, kiln roast salmon, crayfish or egg noodles with chilli and peanuts. A selection of soups and hot rice and noodle dishes including Malaysian Laksa or Tom Kha Gai soups put some fire in your belly, whilst carb lovers can choose from a variety of Yum Subs.

For the sweet tooth, try moreish Mochi (coconut, sesame or peanut rice balls).

Breakfast

Mornings at Yum Som pack an equal punch with options for the health conscious and the healthiest of appetites.  Colourful Smoothie Bowls promise to be the next big breakfast trend with bite, topping oat and almond milk smoothies with fresh fruit, nuts and seeds. Select from Superfood with banana, pineapple, mango and kale, or Festival with strawberry, raspberry, banana, pineapple, mint, peanut and honey.

Combat a cold snap with creamy, warming porridge, simple and satisfying with rolled oats, honey and fruit compote, or with miso soup.

Signature dish

Give yourself a head start in the morning with Yum Som’s signature dish – the hot and satisfying sesame Shao Bing, a Taiwanese flatbread with omelette and Asian herbs which can be personalised with your choice of aubergine, smoked bacon, spiced prawn or chilli pork.

Fresh fruit pots and pastries are also available alongside delicious cold-pressed juices from PRESS, top quality Union Coffee and Teapigs award-winning range of teas to leave you bright-eyed and bushy tailed.
