The Pride of Britain hotel consortium is a not for profit organisation that belongs to its member hotels, a collection of never more than 50 independent, mostly family-owned, luxury hotels in some of the most beautiful locations around the British Isles. Each has its own distinctive style and character but all of them are run by people with a passion for great hospitality, verging on the obsessional.
Pride of Britain has just added two new member hotels, following a successful inspection and voting process as per the consortium’s rules. This brings the collection to 48 hotels, just two short of its upper limit.
Bedford Lodge (pictured top) is a fine hotel and spa on the edge of Newmarket in Suffolk, and Ellenborough Park (above) is a historic property close to the racecourse at Cheltenham in Gloucestershire.
Both have red stars from the AA and are highly rated for their food.
