STR Global’s preliminary September 2015 data for London, England, indicates mostly positive performance in the key performance metrics.
- increases in supply (+1.7%) and demand (+1.6%);
- a 0.1% decrease in occupancy to 89.2%;
- a 6.5% increase in average daily rate to GBP 163.94; and
- a 6.5% increase in revenue per available room to GBP 146.29.
Performance in London was driven mainly by the Rugby World Cup, which began on 18 September and will run through the end of October. Year-over-year RevPAR growth in the market moved into double figures on 16 September and remained in double figures for the duration of the month.
