The Mail on Sunday reports that sales and profits at The Savoy recovered strongly in the year to 31 December 2014, as the hotel re-opened Kaspar, its main restaurant, and improved trading whilst controlling costs. As a result, operating profit before interest, tax and exceptionals rose to £7.5 million.
The Savoy is now owned equally by Katara Hospitality (owned by Qatar) and Kingdom Holding Company (95% owned by Prince Alwaleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia).
The hotel is managed by the Fairmont Hotels Group, which in turn is 40% owned by the Qatar Investment Authority, and 35% by Kingdom Holding.
