Meantime Brewing Company is marking a major milestone in welcoming its 10,000th guest on a tour of the state-of-the-art brewery in Greenwich.
Since unveiling the Tasting Rooms in December 2014, visitor numbers to the brewer’s flagship site on Blackwall Lane have soared, surpassing projected targets in just eight months and well up on last year.
Growing popularity of craft beer
With the popularity of craft beer in the UK continuing to grow, 8,000 of these visitors have been consumers keen to learn more about Meantime and its brewing credentials at the forefront of modern craft. The other 2,000 have been trade customers – testament to Meantime’s commitment to quality and education across the on and off trade.
The Knowledge
The announcement comes hot on the heels of Meantime’s latest innovation, The Knowledge – a series of courses designed to educate the public about the historic process of brewing, how to taste beer, different varieties from around the world, and how to pair with food.
Open to both consumers and trade, The Knowledge is the flagship of Meantime’s quest to help educate consumers about beer, and has been integral in attracting visitors to the multi-million pound brewery in native Greenwich.
Rich Myers, Marketing Director of Meantime Brewing, said: “Welcoming our 10,000th visitor on a brewery tour is an exciting moment for us and surpasses our projected figures to this point. We pride ourselves on our commitment to education and giving visitors access to the entire facility to see our brewers in action – before sharing a pint of our award-winning beer with them afterwards in the Tasting Rooms. It’s this open attitude and desire to educate and inform the world about craft beer that has brought so many people through our doors and will continue to for many years to come. Here’s to the next 10,000!”
