It was good to be reminded at this week’s opening party for the new Ibérica on Victoria Street in London just why Ibérica is so successful: the stylish yet also comfortable environment, the delicious range of the menu, and the equally excellent repertoire of drinks. Ibérica Victoria will undoubtedly appeal to the ever-increasing population around Victoria Street, who will welcome the quality and variety it adds to their options.
Added to which, Ibérica’s executive chef, the three Michelin-starred Nacho Manzano (Casa Marcial, La Salgar) and head chef César García have also created an exceptional Autumn menu for the official opening of Ibérica Victoria this month.
Restaurant and Bar
Ibérica’s menu offers a modern take on traditional Spanish dishes, all featuring meticulously sourced ingredients from Spain’s best producers. Signature tapas such as Serrano ham croquettes (above); San Simon cheese dip with toasted bread, sun blush tomatoes and rocket; confit cod with Vizcaina sauce and octopus a la gallega with potatoes and pimento de la vera; alongside larger dishes of paella; and a mixed grill of 100% Ibérico pork prime cuts from País de Quercus.
World famous Jamón Ibérico takes centre stage within an extensive selection of artisan cheeses and cured meats, perfectly paired with a rich bottle of red from the expansive list of regional Spanish wines, available by the glass, bottle or traditional porrón.
Design
Predominantly brilliant white walls are decorated with hand-drawn framed artwork and complemented by slicks of seafoam green and floral upholstered furniture. Key décor details include a large bull’s head on the wall alongside open cabinets of famous La Cartuja de Sevilla crockery. Stained wooden flooring combined with traditional Spanish floor tiling complete the picture.
On the ground floor, an impressive gleaming white bar (pictured top), designed like a kitchen stove, is decorated with visually stunning vintage aluminium pots and garlands of dried chilli, herbs and garlic hanging overhead. Perfect for solo lunchtime diners or small groups enjoying a cold drink post-work with colleagues, clink one of the signature cocktails, share a jug of fruity sangria or sip a speciality gin & tonic serve from the exclusive 13-strong range of vermouths and gins. A selection of Spanish beers is also available on draught whilst many more premium bottles fill the fridges behind.
One stunning private dining room seated up to five guests offer a stylish setting for business lunches and celebrations whilst an al fresco terrace seats up to 42 diners and drinkers.
Deli
The ground floor deli brings the very best of Spanish gastronomy, wine and culture to the UK, with a selection, many exclusive to Ibérica, of artisan products and Spanish ingredients including gourmet seafood, charcuterie, olive oils, preserves, the finest cheeses and sherries from Jerez. Peruse the selection for a Spanish-inspired weekend lunch or dash from the office and collect ingredients for a dinner assembled in minutes at home.
