An array of local and globally-inspired menus featuring mezze deli boards, Moroccan platters and the finest seafood freshly prepared and served by Centerplate greeted the 800guests attending the launch event of the new Exhibition Centre Liverpool.
Among highlights, a Chef’s Table was established in the venue showcasing the eclectic combination of local delicacies and international cuisine, creatively crafted by Centerplate’s team of chefs to exceed the expectations of event organisers. Guests were treated to samples of spicy ginger-infused beef, carpaccio-style seared tuna and chunky roasted Thai-style squash.
Centerplate’s Executive Chef Matt Nugent and his team of in-house chefs also created fun new flavours with local ingredients to create gourmet on-the-go food. Dishes included hot hand carved roasted meats served in brioche buns, antipasti deli boards, and freshly-prepared signature sandwiches made to order.
In keeping with the festival theme of the launch event, guests were given the opportunity to enjoy a selection of street food including succulent curries served from authentic tuk tuks; spicy Cajun burritos with chilli sauce; and tantalisingly tasty dips such as roasted baba ganoush and crispy and spicy butter beans. The venue’s bar menus also offered a taste of Liverpool with a selection of refreshing flavours of organic gin locally-produced and hand crafted by Liverpool Gin.
Flexible use areas incorporated within the design of the Exhibition Centre Liverpool complex have also enabled Centerplate to develop an alternative style of new catering concepts. For example, The Deck inspired Centerplate to create “Backyard BBQ”, a bespoke in-house pop-up BBQ brand for upscale casual dining.
