DrinkUp.London – the new website for London

By James Russell: DrinkUp.London – the new website for London

September 8, 2015

The team behind London’s three internationally-renowned drinks events – London Cocktail Week, London Wine Week and London Beer Week – has unveiled its new project – DrinkUp.London.

DrinkUp.Londonis bringing the festivals ethos, offers, promotions and exclusive drinks events every day of the year and is an image-led website crammed full of the very best of London nightlife, curated by those in the know.

Editor Jane Ryan, who cut her teeth at Difford’s Guide – the online drinks encyclopaedia – is excited to promote the very best of London’s hospitality scene to young Londoner’s. “Since moving to London, I have truly fallen in love with the bar and hospitality industry, the dedication of the people behind the scenes and the astounding time and creativity that goes into the design, menus and ideas.

DrinkUp.London is a wonderful chance for me to use the technical skill of writing to share my insight into this incredible industry.”

Every bar that participates in the three festivals

DrinkUp.Londonfeatures every bar that participates in the three week-long festivals. These venues are specifically cherry-picked throughout the year for their drinks offering and overall excellence, which means that only the absolute best have made it onto the site and the team have searched tirelessly for the three most informative independent reviews for each of the 450 bars listed.

Each of the 450 bars also features a Where To Drink Before and Afterrecommendation – created entirely without algorithms, instead hand chosen by the team based on their in-depth knowledge of each venue; its drinks list, its bar team and its general vibe.

Ticket shop for drinks events

DrinkUp.Londonis also a one-stop ticket shop for drinks events within the capital, and a chance for the team to tap-up their long-standing contacts within the industry, opening up their address books and passing on their invitations to some of the most exclusive and inventive drinks events in London.

With additional offers and exclusive drinks promotions – it makes DrinkUp.London an invaluable resource for those that love to have a good time. For the 450 bars listed on the site – DrinkUp.London promises to continue its unrivalled support and fee-free promotion on their website, all printed material and within the DrinkUpLDN app – created in partnership with Publicity. This app relies on bars taking charge of their online presence and using real-time check-in and push notifications to let consumers know how busy their bar is, if there’s a queue or if there’s a special offer or promotion.

Nothing similar

Ben Smithco-founder of Publicity says; “There is nothing similar to the platform we have created that allows bar venues to speak directly to their customers and promote real-time availability within their venue each evening. We felt that the partnership with DrinkUp.London was the perfect way to showcase what we have achieved with the technology we created. We’re very excited to see all 450 DrinkUp.London venues using the app!”

DrinkUp.Londonis an affiliate of London & Partners, tied in to the Mayor’s office and is working alongside them to close the gap between tourism and hospitality promoting better drinking to both visitors as well as Londoners.

DrinkUpLDN App

The brand new DrinkUpLDN app launches alongside the website in partnership with Publicity.

Most unusually, this app features live time check-in at all 450 venues listed within it so guests can check table availability or bar space before starting their journey. Bars wishing to raise their visibility within the DrinkUpLDN app should contact hello@drinkup.london to discuss options.
