The Royal Horseguards Hotel is delighted to announce the launch of their ‘Cocktail Chapter’. The mixologists at the Equus Bar at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in London’s Whitehall, pride themselves on developing a different cocktail every month, however, this August sees the launch of not one, but four new cocktails.
The Aperol Sorbet Spritz, Berry Crush, Gin & Jam and the Inverness Cocktail, are designed to satisfy the most discerning cocktail connoisseur and are described as more of an ‘upgrade’ on the classics with the introduction of favourite seasonal summer ingredients such as elderflower cordial, blackberries and even strawberry jam. While the Inverness Cocktail contains coconut water, current favourite of the ‘wellness brigade’, which helps to counter the effects of the rum.
Aperol Sorbet Spritz
- Homemade Aperol Sorbet
- 100ml Prosecco
- 10gm Sugar
- Juice from half an orange
Gently stir and dissolve the sugar into the freshly squeezed orange juice in the Champagne Coupe, scoop the Aperol sorbet into the centre of the glass and delicately fill up with Prosecco. Garnish with an orange peel spiral.
Berry Crush
- 15ml Tequila Silver
- 35ml Vodka
- 20ml Elderflower Cordial
- half lime juice
- 6 Blackberries
Soda water to top up. Muddle the blackberries with elderflower cordial and lime juice add vodka, tequila in the cocktail share. Shake the mix in the shaker for 8 seconds pour it in the old fashion glass filled with crushed ice and top up with soda water. Garnish Blackberries and Lime circles.
Gin & Jam
- Gomme Syrup 10ml
- Half lemon juice
- 2 tsps of Strawberry Jam
- 50 ml Gin
- Top up with Tonic water
Add gin, jam, lemon juice and Gomme syrup in the cocktail shaker. Mix the drink for 8 seconds, pour in the copper mug full of crushed ice top up with tonic water. Garnish tea spoon with jam.
Inverness Cocktail
- 25ml 3* Rum
- 10ml lime juice
- 10ml lemon juice
- 35ml fresh coconut water
- 1 dash orange bitter
- 30ml ginger beer to top up
- 15ml Kraken Spiced rum to float
Add rum, citrus juice, coconut water, 1 dash of bitter in cocktail shaker. Mix for 8 seconds. Pour in a glass filled with crushed ice, add dash of ginger beer and float Kraken Rum on the top. Garnish with a sprig of mint and lime.

During August, this new cocktail menu will be available in the Equus Bar and the Outdoor Terrace, situated on the ground floor of the Royal Horseguards Hotel. Bursting with colourful flowers, the terrace is a haven of
tranquillity with comfy wicker sofas for guests to lounge on. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a sunny day or a long summer evening with friends.
