Punch gears up to host the UK’s largest pub roadshows

By James Russell: Punch gears up to host the UK’s largest pub roadshows

August 24, 2015

Punch is counting down to its 12th annual roadshow tour, the UK’s largest, which will visit 10 destinations nationwide from 17th September to 20th October 2015. Showcasing the value, support network and resources that Punch has to offer existing and potential Partners (i.e. publicans), the roadshow will feature more than 130 suppliers, as well as learning and development opportunities and the chance to meet with key team members including new CEO Duncan Garrood.

Social and digital media stand

New for 2015, in direct response to requests there will also be a social and digital media stand providing advice and support.

Each roadshow will feature a dedicated craft stand that will showcase some of the latest exciting beers and ciders available to Punch Taverns’ tenants and lessees as well as a greater selection of spirit suppliers.

An exclusive voucher booklet, which has proved a huge hit since the launch of the Roadshows in 2012, is returning and will offer savings worth over £1,500 per pub, allowing Partners to gain exclusive discounts from suppliers. Last year, the average pub saved a considerable £540 in value on the day deals and support.

Dates and venues

The 2015 Punch roadshow kicks off on 17th September at Birmingham’s Motorcycle Museum, moving onto Donington Park on 22nd September and City Pavilion (East London) on 24th September. The final roadshow of September will be at University of West England in Bristol on 29th. In October the roadshow will continue to tour the country, visiting Leeds United FC on Elland Road (1st October), Ascot Racecourse (6th October), Durham’s Rainton Meadow Area (8th October), Highland Centre Edinburgh (13th October), Chester Racecourse (15th October) and finally Bolton’s Macron Stadium (20th October). All dates on the roadshow will run from 10am until 3pm.

Duncan Garrood, CEO of Punch commented: “I am thoroughly looking forward to attending the 2015 Punch roadshows and meeting as many Partners as possible to listen and understand what works well for them and how we can further motivate and support them in building successful businesses that deliver the best possible experiences for our pub customers.

“The roadshow is a great opportunity for publicans to meet a multitude of suppliers in one location including local, regional and national brewers. Punch’s support teams are also on hand to discuss topics including how to develop staff effectively through training, successful marketing techniques and effective use of Punch’s Buying Club. There is also the chance to catch up with Partnership Development Managers or Regional Business Managers as well as network with other Punch Partners.”

The Roadshows are open to all Punch Partners who need only turn up and register, and Punch also welcomes any potential new operators. Those keen to attend should register for their free place through the recruitment website here

YouTube features a video with interviews with Punch Partners, suppliers and team members, providing further details and testimonials from those who attended previous years Roadshows.
