The National Association of Care Catering (NACC) Training & Development Forum 2015 returns to the East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham, on 30 September – 2 October. The two-day event guarantees to engage, energise and entertain delegates, whilst sharing the latest innovations, ideas, guidelines and advice to boost their business’ catering provision.
The NACC confirms that Dianne Jeffrey CBE, chairman, Age UK, will deliver the keynote address at the unique, tailored training event for professionals providing catering to the care industry.
Other leading experts in the field of care set to inform and inspire delegates include David Sheard, the CEO and founder of Dementia Care Matters, who will tackle the realities of dementia care and how to create culture change, and Jilly Polson, the dementia lead associate for the Dementia Services Development Centre at Stirling University, who will offer her expertise on the crucial topic of dining, dignity and dementia.
Training modules and cookery demonstrations
In addition to the high-profile speakers, three skill-enhancing training modules will teach and challenge chefs with new approaches and perspectives for creating the right menus for service users in a care environment. The training modules include: Keeping the classics contemporary and combining flavours; Simplicity is genius: less is more on the plate; and Experience the senses of ageing that will enable delegates to understand how the senses change with age. The modules are specifically created for the NACC and delivered by Westminster Kingsway College and the Catering Academy.
Inspirational care cookery demonstrations offering new recipe ideas and menu solutions will support the speakers and workshops, including a presentation by the NACC Care Cook of the Year 2015, Oliver Smith, who will showcase exactly what it takes to be an award-winning care catering chef.
Connecting the Care Sector
The NACC Training & Development Forum brings together a plethora of professionals working in or associated with the care catering sector* in the spirit of exchanging ideas and experiences and sharing best practice in order to ensure continued excellence across the board.
The CaterCare Expo, running alongside the forum, gives delegates the opportunity to link with more than 40 manufacturers and suppliers to explore, experience, sample and test the very latest food, drink, technology, equipment and services appropriate for care establishments.
The successful meet-the-buyer sessions also offer delegates one-to-one meetings with the suppliers to discuss individual needs in more depth.
