Pixxa, purveyors of authentic Pizza Al Taglio (pizza by rectangular slice), have installed an Italian designed and manufactured Smeg dishwasher CW521SDUK at their second outlet, Whitechapel Road, London.
Karl Marriott, director for Marlin Catering Solutions, who looked after the project delivery of the second Pixxa, talks about why a Smeg commercial dishwasher is the ideal solution for Pixxa, “There are natural synergies between Smeg and Pixxa, with the growing chain’s owner Simone Giorgini passionate about Italian design to the point that he rides a Ducati motorbike. Smeg’s brand values are a perfect fit for the Pixxa concept.
“We have a long-standing relationship with Smeg Foodservice Solutions and have specified their warewashing systems for a range of projects. For Pixxa we needed a unit that offers value for money while delivering great dishwashing throughput and performance. Our role involved specifying equipment that matched the original design brief from Pixxa, and working to fit it into the limited space while giving staff the opportunity deliver a fast, efficient and quality service.
“The 60 baskets per-hour wash rate is ideal for an outlet where getting the freshly cooked pizza into customers’ hands quickly is crucial. The unit has the addition of a water softner to improve cleaning and the longevity of the dishwasher’s working life.”
