The hotly anticipated The Zetter Townhouse Marylebone will open its doors on 14th August 2015, and is the latest addition to The Zetter Group’s Townhouse boutique hotel family.
The 24-bedroom Georgian townhouse and cocktail lounge enjoys an enviable location on Seymour Street in London’s fashionable Marylebone, and feels more like the private home of an eccentric relative than a conventional hotel, featuring a spectacular Rooftop Apartment, with a roof terrace, in addition to its 21 bedrooms, 2 studio suites, and cocktail lounge.
While The Zetter Townhouse Clerkenwell is known to some as the home of Zetter’s Great Aunt Wilhelmina, the Marylebone property is the next in the family and is that of Wicked Uncle Seymour.
Interiors inspired by Soane
Inspired by the architectural collections of Sir John Soane, the interiors, by renowned designer Russell Sage, are crammed with a collection amassed during Uncle Seymour’s European Grand Tour and reflect the fictional owner’s eclectic and colourful character.
There are seven categories of unique rooms, each featuring individual collections of antique furniture and curious finds with elegant bathrooms and dramatic reclaimed beds ranging from enormous four posters to Emperor beds with intricate gilt headboards.
The two Studio Suites on the first floor enjoy tall sash windows and dramatic high ceilings, whilst the Rooftop Apartment, occupying the whole top floor, has its own private staircase, dressing room and roof terrace complete with outdoor roll top bath.
Seymour’s Parlour
On the ground floor is Seymour’s Parlour, a cocktail lounge open from breakfast until late, with menus by Bruno Loubet and cocktails made in collaboration with pioneering drinks creator Tony Conigliaro.
The cocktail list also takes inspiration from Seymour’s Grand Tour, and as at The Zetter Townhouse Clerkenwell, the list is peppered with bespoke elements as a result of Tony’s alchemy of spirits and aromatics. Unique ingredients at Seymour’s Parlour include an extravagant Champagne liqueur created for a cocktail in honour of an appointment with a duchy; and orris-inspired “powdered notes” for a drink in homage to Seymour’s friend Tom Rakewell.
Complimenting the drinks are delicious light bites, seasonal supper bowls and sharing platters from Chef Bruno Loubet.
