wagamama is celebrating the opening of its new restaurant at Gatwick North Terminal. For the first time at the airport, travellers are invited to enjoy fresh Japanese-inspired food before they fly. The 150-seat restaurant will create 108new jobs and marks a further expansion for the brand within the travel arena.

Take-away service

A take-away service will be available as wagamama continues its commitment to innovative and flexible dining. Classic dishes such as katsu curry and warm chilli chicken salad will be made fresh to take-away for passengers looking for a quick bite or an alternative to traditional airline food. Newly designed compact packaging ensures consumers can carry their purchases on board with ease. Those with more time to spare can enjoy a longer dining experience in the restaurant’s breakout areas and booths or even up at the chef’s table.

Morning menu

A morning menu unique to Gatwick has been created for early risers and will be served from 4.30am. It boasts authentic Japanese-inspired breakfast dishes such as yasai okonomiyaki (a Japanese style-omelette served with wasabi mayonnaise) and a British twist on Asian classics, including yaki soba noodles served with bacon and egg.

A full menu of seasonal dishes and sides will be available for those travelling later in the day and will be served until 8.30pm. Diners can enjoy popular classics, including wagamama’s famed ramen, the much loved prawn firecracker and the new tofu chili salad. Smaller plates such as chicken gyozas or edamame beans shaken with chili and salt are on offer, alongside an extensive choice of nutritious fresh juices, desserts and beverages.

There’s also a range of dishes designed especially for kids – ideal families off on their holidays.

Next stop…South terminal
