From 1 June, guests at Wivenhoe House Hotel have been able to enjoy a five star London inspired Afternoon Tea, served by the students of The Edge Hotel School in Essex. In a ground-breaking partnership, Brown’s Hotel, The Ritz London and The Dorchester are welcoming students of The Edge Hotel School into their kitchens and Tea Rooms to learn the five star service standards required to deliver these ultimate London Afternoon Teas.
All aspects of service
Undergraduates at Colchester’s Wivenhoe House Hotel, are spending time with Afternoon Tea teams in each five star London hotel, learning all aspects of service, from preparation in the pastry kitchen to the seamless delivery of Afternoon Tea to paying guests.
During each London hotel visit, students have the opportunity to learn from top pastry chefs and service staff to ensure that the new offering at Wivenhoe House Hotel is as close to the London original as possible.

Wivenhoe House Hotel, set in parkland grounds at the University of Essex’s Campus, has already built up an enviable reputation for its afternoon tea, served in the elegant lounges of the eighteenth century main house. As home of The Edge Hotel School, which offers degrees in hotel management, the hotel is always looking for different opportunities which enhance the guest and student experience.
Brown’s Hotel inspired Afternoon Tea will be served at Wivenhoe House Hotel from 1 June until 31 August 2015, The Dorchester inspired Afternoon Tea will be served from 1 September until 30 November 2015, and The Ritz London inspired Afternoon Tea will be served from 1 December 2015 until 28 February 2016. Afternoon Tea at Wivenhoe House is £19.50 per person.
