Taking part in Afternoon Tea Week, 10-16th August?

By James Russell: Taking part in Afternoon Tea Week, 10-16th August?

July 16, 2015

Prepare to celebrate the UK’s great tradition of afternoon tea this Afternoon Tea Week, with a whole host of activities planned across the country in honour of this great foodie heritage, 10-16th August. There’s still time to plan your own activities and join the hundreds of venues nationwide who will be offering themed menus, offers, discounts, and one off events, with London also playing host to the first ever Afternoon Tea Week pop up.

Confirmed venues taking part include icons such as the The Ritz, Conrad St James, Coworth Park and The Intercontinental Park Lane, with many more to be announced. It is easy for brands to become a part of the week too, with English Provender Company, Newby Teas, True Brit London and L’Atelier des Chefs already planning their own activities.

For 2015, Afternoon Tea Week has launched a dedicated Afternoon Tea Week website, which will provide a full directory of events happening throughout the festivities, making it easier than ever to find out what’s going on near you.

Afternoon Tea Week was established by afternoontea.co.uk, the UK’s biggest afternoon tea website. In 2014, it saw 300,000 covers booked through the site, generating £7.5m of afternoon tea revenue for the venues they promoted. The website now has over 500 venues nationwide listed, making it the world’s leading afternoon tea bookings site.

Boost revenue

Keith Newton, founder of Afternoon Tea Week says: “We’re thrilled that the 2015 edition of Afternoon Tea Week has captured the imagination of both the venues and consumers. Launching AfternoonTeaWeek.com has meant we can offer greater exposure for our participants and made it easier than ever for the wider public to get involved in the celebrations.

“It’s a brilliant opportunity for our community to boost revenue from their afternoon teas and I’m pleased to see more venues than ever before taking part with a huge selection of events. We’re all set to build upon 2014’s success and I look forward to revealing all that we have planned via our brand new website.”
