A landmark hotel on the “Road to the Isles” has been put on the market for almost £600,000. The Balmacara is being sold by Peter and Helen Hennessy to allow them to concentrate on their self-catering business on Loch Awe. Marketed by Colliers International, the hotel, a few miles from the Skye Bridge, has a prominent roadside location, with views across the Kyles to the Isle of Skye.
The Balmacara Hotel features 28 letting bedrooms, alongside two bars, a lounge and a restaurant that takes full advantage of the views across Loch Alsh. It also comes with a one bedroom flat and staff accommodation.
Alistair Letham, a director in the UK hotels agency team at Colliers International, said: “This attractive property in the north west Highlands on the road to Skye trades on a seasonal basis and attracts a good level of custom and profitability. New owners also have the choice and opportunity to extend the season of trading to all year round. A private house, for resident owners, is available by separate negotiation.”
Colliers International is inviting offers around £585,000 for the Balmacara Hotel, Balmacara, Kyle, Ross-shire, IV40 8DH.
