Michelin starred chef Simon Radley, who has headed up the kitchen team at The Chester Grosvenor since 1988, has announced a third successive year of his famed ‘Simon Radley Kitchen Academy’. The scheme, which offers apprenticeships to ten aspiring chefs each year, aims to provide a platform for those looking to embark on a career in the kitchen.
Open to 16-24 year old school leavers, unemployed individuals, or those looking to change career, the apprenticeships will run for 12 months from September and enable participants to learn the ropes of the kitchen in the company of one of the country’s leading chefs. Applications close at the end of August, followed by an open day at the hotel prior to commencement of the programme itself.
The Chester Grosvenor has been awarded a Michelin Star annually for the past twenty five years, and stands as one of only five restaurants in the UK to have held this culinary distinction over such an extended period. Since 1995, it has employed apprentices within its team, prior to coming under the management of Bespoke Hotels in April, 2015.
“I am delighted to be extending the academy programme into a third year”, said Radley. “Michelin experience is something invaluable to any aspiring chef, and the opportunity to work within such a strong kitchen team is the perfect platform for a budding career.”
