Owners of pubs and restaurants suffering problems with pests can now find professional help at the touch of a button. A smart new online platform has been launched which provides a direct route to pest control experts in any particular area.
The user-friendly ‘Find A Professional’ facility works from an extensive database held by BASIS PROMPT – a register providing independent proof of a pest controller’s credentials.
Strict criteria for members
Rob Simpson, managing director of BASIS PROMPT, said: “Pub and restaurants with pest issues can simply click on a map to bring up a list of expert controllers in their locality. And because those listed are members of PROMPT, people who use the site can be sure that the job will be done properly.
“We know there are a number of unqualified controllers around, but the treatment of pests is often complicated and specialised and it can be false economy to ignore the professional approach simply to save money.
“We have strict criteria which ensure each of our members has received proper training and has continued to update their expertise through Continuing Professional Development.
“So, by contacting a controller through our new website, people will be assured of a safe, effective and legal treatment.”
The new website also contains details about the BASIS PROMPT register and features a resource library along with links to key trade associations.
It also provides a string of benefits for pest controllers themselves – creating the ability to join the register online, upload photos for identity cards and keep track of training points.
About BASIS PROMPT
The BASIS PROMPT register is an industry initiative providing independent proof that a pest controller has received proper professional training and has continued to update their expertise through Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
To be eligible for BASIS PROMPT, pest control technicians need to have achieved Level Two in Pest Management or Pest Control. Registration must be renewed each year, so members will always be aware of the most up-to-date techniques, products and legislation.
By employing registered technicians, pest control companies can be sure their firm is delivering a professional, effective service.
Commercial customers, local authorities and the general public can be sure the pest controllers they use are capable of offering a truly professional service if they insist on using businesses whose managers and technicians are BASIS PROMPT-registered.
