Insomnia has announced an exciting new partnership with leading international retailer, Debenhams, which will see the Irish coffee company open a number of Insomnia @ Debenhams outlets across the UK and Ireland over the coming months. The first of these has just launched at Debenhams in the Mahon Point Shopping Centre, Cork and plans are afoot to also expand into Debenhams’ UK stores with Insomnia outlets in Rugby and Bradford.
Insomnia took part in the Debenhams Press Show for the first time in May at Victoria House in London, where the team served double shots of premium coffee alongside tasters from its fresh bakery range. This event marked the beginning of Insomnia’s relationship with Debenhams in the UK.
Natural home for Insomnia
“We’re very proud to announce this new partnership with Debenhams which will see us open our first UK outlets later this summer,” said Bobby Kerr, Chairman of Insomnia. “As a market leader with an exciting portfolio of lifestyle brands, Debenhams is a natural home for Insomnia. The cosy seating and relaxed atmosphere of our stores will offer tired customers the chance to properly unwind with a cup of our finest premium coffee after a hard day’s shopping.”
Debenhams UK Director of Space Planning Mark Jordan also commented, saying: “After a successful launch of the established Irish coffee brand Insomnia Coffee into our Cork store, where our customers have been very receptive to the product offer and concept, we are delighted to be working with Insomnia Coffee on a further rollout into two UK stores.”
This latest partnership marks a high point in Insomnia’s growth which has seen the company go from strength to strength since the opening of its first outlet in a Galway bookstore in 1997. Other successful partnerships for the brand include affiliations with Spar, Eurospar, Eason, Meadows and Byrne, and Heatons.
