GRAB Food opens third location on Lovat Lane, Monument

By James Russell: GRAB Food opens third location on Lovat Lane, Monument

July 15, 2015

Everyday Thai Food Café, GRAB has opened a new branch on Lovat Lane (Monument). The company’s first café was opened on Leonard Street (Old Street) in 2011 with the Queen Victoria Street Branch (Mansion House) following soon after.  There are plans to roll out in another 10 locations by 2016.

GRAB is a concept thought up by the husband and wife duo, Neetibut and Chusana. Both were born in Bangkok and raised in London. It’s fast and honest Thai food café serving traditional and authentic dishes. Lunch is priced between £5 – £7 giving customers the option to choose between small or regular-sized portion, white or brown jasmine rice – offering city workers cheap, quick and healthy food options and positioning them as a major player in the lunch market.

Major backer

The company has backing from The Minor Food Group, a subsidiary of Minor International PLC, one of the biggest food operators in Asia with over 1,500 outlets, including The Pizza Company, Swensen’s, Burger King and Dairy Queen Brands.

As well as a full marketing campaign, GRAB has recently partnered up with ico Design (SNOG Frozen Yoghurt, Benugo) to further strengthen branding, strategy and identity.

Neetibut Vasinondha, Co-Founder and Managing Director, commented; “Over the years, we have worked hard to create recipes that have the right balance of the bold Thai flavours and also fitting to the demands of London breakfast and lunchtime goers.” said Neetibut, “GRAB finds its inspiration from the Bangkok food scene, served fast and wholesome for the metropolis lifestyle. Born in Bangkok, raised in London, that is who we are.”
