David Guile, former CEO of Macdonald Hotels and Resorts, has joined Assured Hotels as Chairman. He brings with him a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry that will add to the operator’s strength and growing hotel management division.
In a career that has spanned over 29 years in the industry, David has gained a thorough knowledge of every aspect of hotel and business management. Under his stewardship of Macdonald Hotels, a collection of 45 four and five star hotels and resorts, the company has enjoyed successive EBITDA growth over the last five years despite challenging trading conditions.
David said, “I am delighted to come on board. It’s an exciting time to join the company as we aspire to build on recent successes which includes the Cedar Court Hotel Group. Our objective now is that we actively acquire more hotels both in management contracts and joint ventures.”
Bringing all this experience to Assured Hotels, together with a strong focus on profit maximisation, David will be involved in future funding strategy and portfolio development. He will also advise on compliance with corporate governance and sees his role as supporting Assured Hotels’ directors and shareholders.
