Roadchef, one of the UK’s largest motorway service area operators and SPAR, the UK’s leading convenience store group, have announced an agreement to introduce SPAR stores as an additional offering to serve the 46m visitors who stop at Roadchef’s sites each year.
Roadchef is one of the UK’s leading motorway and trunk road service operators. With 30 locations, popular brands located at sites now include SPAR, McDonald’s, Costa, WHSmith and Days Inn. In addition, Roadchef’s own branded offerings include The Burger Company, Fresh Food Café and Restbite.
The agreement will launch with two test stores at Strensham on the M5 and Northampton on the M1 with the Strensham store opening at the beginning of July. It is anticipated that following a successful trial, the brand will be introduced to its major roadside locations within the next few years.
The SPAR stores will be to the brand’s latest design, with the format combining the great value proposition that SPAR is renowned for providing, with a number of more artisan offerings that will meet the increasing demand from motorists for a wider range of healthy, fresh produce at motorway service areas.
