STR Global’s preliminary May 2015 data for London, England, indicates mostly negative hotel performance. Based on daily data from May, London reported:
- increases in supply (+3.3 percent) and demand (+4.1 percent);
- a 0.8-percent decrease in occupancy to 85.0 percent;
- a 10.8-percent decrease in average daily rate to GBP125.91; and
- a 10.1-percent decrease in revenue per available room to GBP107.04.
Despite showing a year-over-year decrease in occupancy, London maintained an occupancy level of 85.0 percent with events such as the HSBC Sevens World Series and the RHS Chelsea Flower Show providing a slight impact.
