One of the Midlands’ leading independent hotel groups is looking to increase the team at one of its hotels by 46 per cent by 2016.
The team at Cockliffe Country House has already grown from 9 to 15 since it was taken over by Heritage Estates in 2014. By the end of the year, there will be a total of 22 roles at Cockliffe, including positions for apprentices in a bid to encourage long-term growth at the venue in Burntstump Country Park, Nottinghamshire. The group’s recruitment expansion coincides with the £1m refurbishment currently taking place to bring the AA Rosette-winning hotel firmly within the group’s standards of service.
There are also plans to grow the team at Heritage Estate’s first hotel, Kelham House Country Manor Hotel in Newark, that currently employs 26 members of staff. There are hopes to take on a full-time gardener next year to help make the venue more self-sufficient with its own fruit and vegetable production.
Jon-Paul Davies, managing director of Heritage Estates, is looking forward to the future of Cockliffe Country House, saying:
“Growing our portfolio is very important to us but we need to have the right team to achieve this. The team at Cockliffe has come into its own, and as we’re starting to see the benefits of greater consumer confidence, we hope to see our refurbishment completed by the end of the year.
“We have roles available across all areas at Cockliffe to offer the best possible service for our wide offering of events, weddings, accommodation and dining as the year progresses.”
