The Sunday Times reports that bistro chain Côte is set for sale later this year, with private equity owner CBPE capital conducting a strategic review with advisers.
Côte was founded in 2007 by Richard Caring, Andy Bassadone, Chris Benians, and Nick Fiddler.
Only two years ago restaurant tycoon Richard Caring sold his 51% majority stake in Côte to CBPE Capital. The deal valued the chain at £100 million, though a price of £200 million is rumoured this time.
The restaurants have been expanding – there are now nearly 70 sites – and profits have also increased to £16.2m last year.
With Las Iguanas, Yo!Sushi and La Tasca also up for sale, 2015 looks like a busy year for restaurant investors!
