Andrew Brownsword Hotels has appointed Piers Vowles as General Manager of Amberley Castle, with Piers taking up his new position on 6 July 2015.
Piers joins Amberley Castle from his previous role at the Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath, where he held the position of Deputy General Manager for over four years. Piers has been in the hospitality industry since 2003, bringing a wealth of experience to his new position, having worked in a variety of roles at properties including Kilworth House Hotel and Theatre in Leeds, the Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel in Bath, and the De Vere Grand Harbour in Southampton.
On his appointment, Piers commented, ‘I am delighted to join Andrew Brownsword Hotels to take up the role of General Manager at Amberley Castle – the hotel has a great team and it’s such an iconic property. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience and my passion for food and beverage to the role, maintaining and building the hotel’s strong reputation for offering outstanding service, luxurious accommodation, and delicious cuisine in the heart of West Sussex.’

Amberley Castle also celebrates this month after receiving an AA Notable Wine List award for the first time. Recognising establishments where the wine selection offers exquisite quality, selection and presentation, Amberley joins an exclusive list of UK hotels to hold the award, including sister properties Gidleigh Park and The Bath Priory.
