Caffix describes itself as a new concept store in London, with the aim to offer high quality coffee and food at a much lower price. How they manage at such low prices will intrigue many – and if they can continue to do so in additional outlets, it could become a real threat.
Using its extensive experience, the caffix team has developed a menu of freshly prepared food for breakfast and lunch including its own baked cakes. Like other cafes in London and elsewhere.
The difference? Every item is sold at a single low price of £1, allowing customers to choose as many – or few – items as they choose, mixing and matching as they go.
So – greater choice, at smaller cost.
The food range
The food is freshly prepared in their kitchen, and includes
- malted brown bread sandwiches and stone baked 6 cereal baguettes.
- fillings with meat, fish and vegetarian options: they make all their own mixes and most of the sauces.
- salad pots are sized as the perfect accompaniment to a sandwich or baguette, or eaten as a selection of 3 to 4 giving a more filling yet lighter lunch option.
- changing weekly selection of two soups also available as a hot option
- mouth-watering cake display with the usual suspects from breakfast pastries, to baked banana bread and flourless muffins.
And the coffee?
The coffee is “traditionally Italian roasted from Brazil Santos beans and other high mountain Central American varieties producing a beautifully creamy espresso, which is full bodied with good acidity, giving notes of chocolate and caramel through the milk.” We will certainly look to try it soon.
And the tea selection is “no less than 6 whole leaf teas renowned for their impact on taste and flavour”.
