The AA has announced the winners of the AA Bed and Breakfast Awards 2015 at a ceremony held at The Landmark London Hotel, including the title of Friendliest Bed and Breakfast of the Year.

The awards, presented at the annual ceremony, include guest accommodation for England , Wales , Scotland , Northern Ireland and London as well as the awards for Funkiest Bed and Breakfast and Friendliest Bed and Breakfast.

Strength and depth of the B&B market

AA Friendliest B&B 2015 sponsored by eviivo – The Old Railway Yard, Redruth

The Old Railway Yard B&B in Redruth, was built by Graham Collier and Suzanne Wilson on the site of Graham’s former blacksmith business.  Guests are always greeted with a first name introduction and one of Suzanne’s genuine smiles as she puts the kettle on to accompany the Cornish cream tea that they are offered on arrival.  Guests also benefit from the wonderful hot tub, perfect for relaxing in after a day’s touring around Cornwall .

AA Guest Accommodation of the Year for England 2015 – The Glove House, Woodstock

The Glove House, a beautiful 400 year old Georgian townhouse owned by Francesco and Caroline Totta, is in the heart of Woodstock and provides a wonderful base for exploring the delights of the surrounding Oxfordshire countryside.  The guests benefit from stunning bedrooms and many original Georgian features including a welcoming wood panelled sitting room.  Breakfast is a culinary delight with Francesco treating guests to locally sourced produced and his speciality Italian scrambled eggs.

AA Guest Accommodation of the Year for Scotland 2015 – Kingsmuir House, Peebles

Kingsmuir House is located in picturesque Peebles and offers guests a personal, homely and elegant experience.  Owners Malcolm and Karen Mullarky brought the house in 2004 and after years of renovation welcomed their first guests in January 2012.  The two stunning suites retain many of the original features of the Victorian built home with touches of modern luxury.  Malcolm and Karen aim to exceed guests’ expectations and the added treats such as homemade chocolate truffles, shortbreads and fresh flowers all make the welcome so special at Kingsmuir House.

AA Guest Accommodation of the Year for Wales 2015 – Trefloyne Manor, Tenby

The Beynon family bought Trefloyne Manor in 2004 as a derelict farmhouse with outbuildings which have been fully restored to create 12 individually designed bedrooms.  Now run by owners Joan Benyon, her son Tom Beynon and his partner Sian Griffiths, guests not only benefit from an abundance of local produce served in the terrace restaurant but also the stunning views over 200 acres of Pembrokeshire countryside.

AA Guest Accommodation of the Year for Northern Ireland 2015 – Tara Lodge, Belfast

Located in the Queen’s Quarter of Belfast, Tara Lodge is ideal for exploring the wonders that Belfast has to offer as well as being close to transport links.  General Manager, Nora Douds has been at Tara Lodge since 1999 and her energy, persistence and resourcefulness ensure that guests’ expectations are exceeding during their stay.  The luxurious rooms have a wide range of added extras including Nespresso coffee machines, wide screen TVs and DVD players.

AA Funkiest Bed and Breakfast 2015 – San Pietro, Scunthorpe

San Pietro is a unique Restaurant with Rooms offering 14 luxury boutique bedrooms run by Pietro and Michelle Catalano.  Each room is stylishly decorated with eye catching and unusual wallpapers and fabrics and feature design furniture classics and limited release artwork.  Guests are greeted by friendly professional staff who will go out of their way to deliver an enjoyable stay for everyone.
