After 10 successful years, one of London’s most famous Cookery Schools, Venturi’s Table, is under new management: Laura Beaumont, one of the school’s former teachers and Bella Blackett, a seasoned Events Manager, are the new owners.
While the brand has been refreshed and the pair promise to bring a new level of energy and enthusiasm, the school will continue to offer fun, hands-on cookery experiences for private groups and corporate team building clients.
From Italian food to…
The school, which has also been used by Michelle Roux, Paul Hollywood & Marco Pierre White for TV filming, will be branching out from Italian food, to include, among others, Thai and Indian food.
Similarly, a new range of recipes has been created, to encourage socialising and bonding. “We’re very flexible when it comes to menus and recipes,” says Bella.
Legendary team of teachers
Laura and Bella will also be retaining the school’s legendary team of teachers. Laura explains: “All of our staff are ‘people’s people’. While they will happily share their deep knowledge and passion with our guests, they also understand that not everyone is necessarily interested in the technical details of why a recipe does or doesn’t work. It’s about having a great time and getting to know people better.”
Bella continues: “The experience of cooking and sharing delicious food together enhances relationships. Whether cooking is your thing or not, creating food with others and learning some tips breaks down barriers and is really fun.
“Restaurants are great, but most people only get to talk to the people on either side of them. Where are the conversations and teamwork there?”
About Venturi’s Table
Venturi’s Table was founded by Italian grandmother Anna Venturi and was the first cookery school of its kind to tailor specifically for group cooking, filming and photography.
Clients include GSK, BP, Shell, Yahoo, Google, Lloyds, Ernest and Young, HSBC, Barclays, Sainsbury’s, The Guardian, The Financial Times, BBC, P&G & Nestle.
Its kitchens are designed with teamwork in mind and are used for team building, corporate entertaining, private parties, product launches and creative meetings.
The design is light, airy and modern, deliberately encouraging movement so that guests are not next to the same person for the whole event.
Bella sums up the new ethos: “Venturi’s Table is about bringing people together through food. With our fantastic kitchens, and super friendly teachers, that’s exactly what we’re determined to do.”
