Rick Stein and Jill Stein have opened doors to their new venture in Fistral. Friends, family and local businesses joined the Stein family to celebrate the opening of their new Rick Stein restaurant on Thursday 30 April.
Rick commented, “Newquay is a fun place to be and we’re thrilled to finally be here. As well as the traditional fish and chips, we’ve got curries and flavours from the Far East which were actually Jack’s idea, inspired from his time surfing in Indonesia, or Indo as he likes to call it. Great food in a fantastic location, what could be better?”
The restaurant is open every day from 9am – 9pm serving breakfast, fish and chips, curries, ice creams and drinks.
From the curry kitchen, expect dishes inspired by Rick’s travels including Goan chicken curry, lamb karahi and pad Thai noodles.
For those opting for fish and chips, the menu features local fish battered and deep fried in beef dripping to make it really crisp served alongside hand-cut chips and Rick’s homemade tartare sauce, mayonnaise and authentic curry sauce.
The casual self-service style of the restaurant means the restaurant doesn’t take reservations, but there’s plenty of space both inside and outside to enjoy Rick’s dishes.
