More than 12,000 visitors are expected to attend one of the South East’s largest exhibitions of architecture, fine art, design and film. The University of Brighton’s annual Graduate Show is a free-to-attend exhibition that lets visitors search out stars of the future who hope to follow in the footsteps of alumni such as fashion designer Julien Macdonald OBE or Turner Prize winners such as Keith Tyson and Rachel Whiteread CBE.
More than 500 final-year-students will be showcasing their creations at the university’s city centre Grand Parade building, with architecture displays at Circus Street Market.
One of the students is Alice Stewardson, whose ‘croquembouche’ (above) is the result of more than 50 attempts at creating the most life-like pyramid of profiteroles – using clay. From Colchester, Alice said her 3d Design and Craft course was “fabulous – it really helped me find my niche which I might not have found at another university”. Her collection is called ‘Half Baked’.
The 2015 Graduate Show will be open to the public from 6 – 14 June at the College of Arts and Humanities, Grand Parade, Brighton, BN2 0JY.
Opening times for the Graduate Show:
- Mon-Wed, 10am-6pm
- Thurs-Fri, 12pm-5pm
- Sat-Sun: 12pm-5pm
