Belmond has announced the appointment of Klaus Kabelitz as general manager of Belmond Cadogan Hotel in Knightsbridge, London, which will re-open in autumn 2016 following a complete renovation.
Mr Kabelitz is a seasoned hotel operator and will join Belmond on 1 July 2015 from Le Richemond Genève, a Dorchester Collection property he has managed since April 2012. Prior to taking up his position in Geneva, Kabelitz worked in London for 14 years, initially as house manager of Claridge’s, then as general manager of The Berkeley for nine years. He began his career working for various hotels in the Hilton collection, before joining Four Seasons in London and then Berlin.

Owned by Cadogan Estates Limited and operated by Belmond, the fully renovated and re-conceptualized Belmond Cadogan Hotel will open in autumn 2016 with refurbished public areas and a re-configured room layout, reducing from 64 keys to 54 in order to accommodate demand from luxury travelers for larger junior suites and suites. The Hotel sits opposite Cadogan Place Gardens on Sloane Street, one of the world’s best known destinations for international luxury.
Belmond will also operate Durley House, an all-suite, private-residence-style property located within the same block of Sloane Street as Belmond Cadogan Hotel and also owned by Cadogan Estates Limited. As with the hotel, Durley House is currently undergoing a renovation and is expected to reopen in the autumn of 2016. Upon re-opening, the renovated long-stay suites at Durley House will be serviced by Belmond Cadogan Hotel and guests will have full use of the hotel’s facilities. Klaus Kabelitz will manage both properties.
