Walkabout operator iNTERTAIN celebrated on the night of 21 May with a glitzy VIP night in its new Brighton venue – the first the company has opened since its formation in 2009.
The opening follows the restructuring of iNTERTAIN’s main debt facilities, which included new long term funding arrangements and allowed the company to acquire a new lease on the site in West Street, Brighton, just a stone’s throw from the world-famous Brighton sea front, and the same one that Walkabout exited over five years ago.
The company has invested over £600,000 in the impressive renovation of the 850 capacity venue and has created 20 new permanent bar, kitchen and management jobs in the process.
This project follows the half-million pound refurbishments of Walkabout Bristol and Walkabout Newquay earlier this year.

The new-style Walkabout includes a signature ‘Reef Bar’ in the main bar area, where linked-screens show under-sea and beach footage and give the impression of being in a “Great Barrier Reef” type paradise.
The venue also boasts a variety of pre-bookable booths and private areas for parties, meals, club nights and live music, along with plush VIP areas and a state-of-the-art sound & light system.
Pre-bookable front row seats are also available for all major televised live sports events, which will be shown on giant new projection screens, and multiple HD TVs, underpinning Walkabout’s reputation as the only place to watch live sports.
The sophisticated new venue offers customers light bites, main meals, sharing dishes and party plates which have all been inspired by the spirit of adventure, and include Wild Boar Burgers, as well as popular classics, such as the Walkabout Kangaroo Steak. The venue also offers an extensive drinks menu that includes wines, beers and cocktails inspired by the character and beauty of Australia.
The fresh and modern look, style and feel of the venue is designed to put Walkabout on the map for both day and night-time trade, positioning it as the place for an impromptu coffee, relaxing lunch or chilled out afternoon, as well as to watch live sport or party.
