Dorchester Collection has announced two executive appointments. John Scanlon (above) has been promoted to general manager of 45 Park Lane, the contemporary Mayfair hotel in London; Christophe Hilty has been promoted to general manager of Le Richemond, the company’s landmark hotel in Geneva.

Scanlon joins 45 Park Lane from his current position as hotel manager at its neighbour, The Dorchester; he has held this role since February 2012 and has been responsible for taking key strategy from concept to implementation. He was previously director of revenue at Dorchester Collection and prior to joining the company, his luxury hospitality experience includes a 14-year span at The Lanesborough, London in a number of roles, progressing to executive assistant manager.
Irish-born, Scanlon graduated from the prestigious Shannon College of Hotel Management. He comments: “I am excited to be working with the team at 45 Park Lane and building on the hotel’s reputation for providing bespoke luxury service to our guests.”
45 Park Lane opened in September 2011 and is steps away from The Dorchester. With contemporary interiors by internationally acclaimed designer Thierry Despont, each of the spacious 45 rooms and suites enjoy views of Hyde Park as does the Penthouse Suite with its panoramic views of London. The hotel features contemporary British artworks by artists including Damien Hirst and Sir Peter Blake and is home to CUT at 45 Park Lane, Wolfgang Puck’s debut restaurant in Europe.
