Valentina opens in Tower Bridge

By James Russell: Valentina opens in Tower Bridge

April 8, 2015

Valentina Fine Foods, the authentic Italian delicatessen, restaurant, caffé, and enoteca (wine shop) which currently has seven branches in London, Surrey and Kent, is set to open its eighth location in the Shad Thames area of Tower Bridge this May.

The newest addition to the Valentina family boasts a £1 million refurbishment and will be the group’s flagship store and restaurant, with the group planning on further expansion in 2015. Located in the Cardamom building, this 6,200 sq. ft. site will be able to cater to 100 covers. The Tower Bridge location will house a considerably larger wine offering and delicatessen than the other sites and will be the home of the Valentina online business.

Local residents and businesses will benefit greatly from the new site as Valentina Tower Bridge will offer a home and office delivery service that will give locals the option to fill their pantries with any of the items from the delicatessen.  They will also offer a catering service for private and corporates.

Deli range

The expansive deli range will house over 200 Italian wines and 1,500 products including fresh hams and salami, cheeses and traditional antipasti.  Alongside this a complete range of store cupboard essentials, including Valentina’s own branded pasta, olives and oils as well as specials, cooked freshly every day. All of the produce in the delicatessens have been carefully sourced and imported from Italy by Valentina’s sister company, Guidetti Fine Food and Wine.

Valentina Fine Foods is jointly owned by the Zoccola and Arcari families, both of whom originate from Sant’Elia Fiumerapido, a small village near Monte Cassino southeast of Rome, and the influence and heritage is apparent across the group.  Valentina’s executive chef, Massimo Grippa also hails from Italy, further strengthening the Italian connection.

Valentina Fine Foods restaurants are located in Sheen, Putney, Sevenoaks, Notting Hill, Weybridge Reigate and Chiswick. Store hours are Monday to Sunday from 8:30 am to 10:30 pm serving breakfast, (hot breakfast only on weekends) lunch and dinner every day.
