The Saracen’s Head leads McMullen £3.5m investment in Ware

By James Russell: The Saracen’s Head leads McMullen £3.5m investment in Ware

April 6, 2015

The Saracen’s Head has now re-opened after a major refurbishment which has included restoring the basement as a bar.  The design is very informal with a touch of pop art and has created relaxing areas to enjoy the selection of craft and world beers, local artisan ales and an amazing selection of ‘small batch’ botanical gins.  The menu includes a variety of pub classics with a modern twist including a pizzeria kitchen.

Pub manager, Carl Farmer commented: “I am delighted with the new look and we are really proud of our new pizzas which are sourced from Luciano, an Italian artisan pizza dough producer. The handcrafted dough is simply the best – we use great 00 flour wheat germ, semolina, extra virgin olive oil and sea salt”

The Cellar

The new basement bar has been re-opened after many years and is now known as ‘The Cellar’ which will host occasional live accoustic and jazz sets as well as being available for private parties.

£3.5 million overall investment in Ware

Peter Furness-Smith, Managing Director of McMullen commented: “The investment in the Saracen’s Head follows on from the recent refurbishment of the nearby Victoria which means McMullen will have invested over £3.5m into Ware once the new pub and family golf centre opens at Chadwell Springs next year. We are excited to be making these investments into our pub estate generally and into Ware in particular as it is important that we keep refreshing and upgrading our pubs not only to make them more relevant to our existing guest’s but also to appeal to new ones.”
